Kathleen Poirier Architects, LLC is a full service architectural firm based in Fairfield County, CT with a focus on residential architecture.  The firm's approach is a creative collaboration with clients from design conception through the completion of construction.  Because each client, site, and budget is unique, so is the approach to each project.  A small firm by design, KPA's  goal is to provide highly personalized attention to each and every project, whether it be a modest renovation or a large estate.  Every aspect of the project is detailed, developed, and reviewed to assure that the design is harmonious with your aims and aspirations. ABOUT

Kathy Poirier has practiced architecture for over 25 years.  She received her Bachelor of Architecture with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991 and studied in Italy for a semester.  

 

Upon graduation, Kathy interned at Culpen and Woods Architects in Stamford, CT. After receiving her architectural license, she moved to the firm Austin Patterson Disston Architects in Southport, CT where she practiced for the next 12 years as a senior project architect.  From 2002 until 2004, she took a sabbatical from APD and moved to London, England with her family where she was a freelance architect.

 

During her tenure at APD, she completed many high-end residential new construction, renovations and additions, along with various commercial projects. Several of these projects were award winners including: a Greenwich, CT residence which won the AIA/CT Design Award, and a Greenwich, CT home renovation which won the HOBI remodeled home of the year.  In July of 2008, Kathy established her own professional practice specializing in residential architecture.
